How many of you celebrated Earth Day this past Wednesday? Shouldn't it be "Earth Week"??
I recently have learned about several cool "Eco-Entreprenuers" that I wanted to share with you.
The first I learned about on GMA on Wednesday morning. This company, TerraCycle, is turning our trash into everyday, usable treasures. I've seen some local companies try to do the same, but this company seems to be well on its way to making a difference. Check out what they are doing with cookie wrappers, drink pouches, and chip bags. They call it Upcycling, and learn how you can get in on the action too.
The second place I learned about is about 1.5 miles down the road from where I live in Atlanta....I've walked by it many times and thought, wow, that's a great new renovation, but in actuality, its alot more than that. Check out Atlanta's own, Ecomanor. Laura Turner Seydel, daughter of Ted Turner and her husband Rutherford, renovated this Buckhead home with the purpose of making it an environmentally sound acheiving several first's for eco-living. I recently toured the home and loved the interior as well as the back yard gardens. Check out the product gallery of appliances and fixtures used in the home. On thing I noticed, there were not many, if any lamps! Laura gave a great presentation on eco-living. She truly cares about our environment.
And the last little tidbit I learned is that SunChips are now producing their snacks in a compostable bag! What a great idea! I hope other companies follow suit!
Happy Earth Week everyone!
