Jamie tries to replicate the strong yet ethereal nature of the flowers growing in her garden. It is nature’s perfection found in its imperfection that she hopes to achieve.Clean lines, negative space, and the use of textures with accents of color are the aesthetics at the root of Cassavoy’s work. Ultimately, Jamie wants to produce great jewelry that is a pleasure to wear and makes the wearer feel beautiful.
A Brief Bio: Jamie Cassavoy de Gonzalez, a native Vermonter, received an MFA in metalsmithing and design from RIT School for American Craft in 1996. She worked in Providence, RI for two years as a model maker for a large manufacturer of precious metal jewelry. In 1998 she moved to Birmingham, Alabama and started Cassavoy and Company. Today her line is handmade in her Atlanta Georgia studio.
