Concept
The
idea:
Promote
emerging designers and budding entrepreneurs in local communities.
The
venue:
A
stylish, modern boutique that hums with the thrill of a seasonal market.
The
business:
A comprehensive and organized operation that can be up and running in less than three months with little or no inventory expenditure needed and potentially no employees because of the co-op structure of the business. From the beginning, Beehive Co-op was conceived of as more than one store. As the Co-op gained exposure and experience we felt the best avenue for growth was to plant local roots in each community. Since we couldn't immerse ourselves in every location, it made good sense for us to adapt the franchises system to our advantage (we actually consider ourselves an "anti-franchise" franchise). By working with local owners, we felt we could become a network of innovative stores relatively quickly and then be able to develop better resources and opportunities for owners, designers, and customers.
The Beehive concept has a built in flexibility and adaptability that is unique in the traditional retail structure. Beehive's competitive strengths include:
Beehive's culture is dynamic, proactive, creative and communicative. We are looking for partners in this endeavor, people who feel passionate about the business model and are looking for a challenging yet balanced career where they can be an integral part of their communities. Our strength will be in our ability to create a network that is interactive and cohesive, independent and interdependent, and utilizes our collective experience and knowledge.
