While I am mainly a jewelry artist and that is the field in which I obtained my degree, I also enjoy many other forms of art. When I am not creating jewelry I find joy in fiber arts as well. Knitting and embroidery are a passion of mine which I frequently try to incorporate in my work. I feel that jewelry should be an expression and an extension of oneself in addition to being an adornment to the body. I strive to create jewelry that is pretty, modern, and classic. Poetique Couture is an independent clothing line dedicated to sustainability and earth friendly fashion. Created by Atlanta based designer Jamie Hirthler, all garments are made of organic cotton and other eco-friendly fabrics, and are dyed using low-impact dyeing methods free of harsh chemicals. The 2008 collections were custom designed in Atlanta and then manufactured in India using fair trade certified labor standards. Most Poetique garments feature signature prints of artwork and poetry, created using water-based screen printing inks. These small production pieces become limited edition works of wearable art, designed to inspire!

Pretty Jane is a one-woman clothing and craft design studio offering Euro and 50s-inspired children's clothing for infants through tweens. Pretty Jane clothing sports a retro feel and a sense of humor, a return to clothes that make children look like children: classic shapes in chic fabrics for new, modern designs with spunk. The focus of her work are hand-thrown porcelain vases that draw inspiration from 20th century modernism. Feminine small-necked bottle shapes emerged from the ancient fertility archetype the egg. The medium's smooth surface challenged her to explore the subtle duality of glazed shiny areas and the matte surface of the porcelain in several designs. Right now the focus expands into different areas such as wallhangings and nature inspired themes.

Your clothes serve as tangible expressions of your personality and experiences. A simple cloth can convey a mood, an intention, a clearly stated point. Making clothing takes those elements to another level, and this is where I find the greatest joy and my gift. From Classic to Bohemian Chic, my designs share my gift with all who will receive it.Today, those same fabrics have followed the times and have manifested into the more contemporary styles and silhouettes that I create.I believe in living in unison with the earth, so naturally, my love of nature, plants and flowers presents itself as a recurring theme throughout my clothing lines. My Caribbean and more recently, Georgian influences have further affected the motifs evident in my designs.Music and film complete the circle, as both played great roles in my life, being the careers of my parents.
